Born in Pantin near Paris in 1995, Mohamed Hiber is a distinctive soloist, but also an enthusiastic chamber music player and sought-after concertmaster. He has a close and long-standing collaboration with two of the world’s greatest artists, Daniel Barenboim and Anne-Sophie Mutter. As concertmaster of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra conducted by Daniel Barenboim since 2019 (and a member of the orchestra since 2010), he also tours the world with the violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter. Since 2020 Mohamed Hiber has been a fellow of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.

Mohamed Hiber studied the violin with Ana Chumachenco since 2013, first in Madrid at the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía and then in Munich Music Academy, from which he graduated in 2020 with a Master’s degree in 2020.

Mohamed Hiber has performed as a soloist with the London Symphony Orchestra, the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Philharmonie Südwestfalen, Philharmonie Baden-Baden, MDR Sinfonieorchester, the Danubian Orchestra, the Royal Chamber Orchestra of Wallonia and the Gstaad Festival Orchestra. He regularly collaborates with renowned conductors ranging from Nabil Shehata and Marie Jacquot, Frank Braley and Robert Farkas to András Schiff and Neeme Järvi.

As a recitalist and keen chamber musician, Mohamed Hiber frequently collaborates with Daniel Barenboim, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Elena Bashkirova, Yuri Bashmet, Gautier Capuçon, Martha Argerich, Frank Braley, Khatia Buniatishvili, Gérard Caussé, Kian Soltani, Daishin Kashimoto, Maxim Ryzanov, Michaela Martin, Frans Helmerson, François Leleux, Nabil Shehata, Boris Brovtsyn, Itamar Golan, Frédéric Guy, Alexandre Tharaud, Amihai Grosz, Edgar Moreau, Pascal Moragues.

With these musicians, Mohamed Hiber performs regularly in the world’s most important chamber music series, such as the Lucerne Festival, the Beethovenfest in Bonn, the Intonations Festival in Berlin, the Salzburg festival, the Jerusalem International Chamber music Festival and Maïklange festival in Verden-Germany, the Rolandseck Festival, Louisiana museum of Modern Art chamber music series in Denmark, and the Easter festival in Aix-en-Provence.

He is also the founder of the Elyon piano together with the Hungarian cellist Laura Szabo and the Austrian pianist Maximilian Flieder. The Elyon trio has notably participated in the BonnFest in Germany and the Schubertiades in Schwartzenberg in Austria.

Mohamed Hiber currently plays an outstanding instrument made by Jean-Baptiste Vuillaume (1858) and two bows made by Benoit Rolland, all on generous loan from the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation.
