In 1982, Heidrun Holtmann won First Prize at the renowned Concours Géza Anda in Zurich. Ever since then, she has been attracting international attention with her subtle interpretations of major piano repertoire. Her playing is praised as natural and unconstrained. German classical music magazine Fono Forum extols Heidrun Holtmann’s “transparent voice-leading, sensitive dynamic arcs, and coherent articulation”. In her piano recital at Schwelm, she will pay homage to this year’s jubilarian composer with a fascinating kaleidoscope of Beethoven’s piano music. Thus, between the challenging late sonatas, she will intersperse rarely performed bagatelles and other short piano pieces.
