Beethoven’s last Sonatas

Arcadi Volodos auf dem Klavierfestival Ruhr 2020

Ludwig van Beethoven
Sonata No. 30 in E major op. 109

Sonata No. 31 in A flat major op. 110
Sonata No. 32 in C minor op. 111

In 1982, Heidrun Holtmann won First Prize at the renowned Concours Géza Anda in Zurich. Ever since then, she has been attracting international attention with subtle interpretations of major piano repertoire. Holtmann’s playing is praised as natural and unconstrained: German classical music magazine Fono Forum extols Heidrun Holtmann’s “transparent voice-leading, sensitive dynamic arcs, and coherent articulation”. Holtmann had already given her début performance at the Festival in 1990, and 2020 was to mark her sixth return: now it can finally take place!
