Also this year, we are, of course, once again part of the ExtraSchicht. At Zollverein, we present one of the most promising emerging talents in the German jazz scene: the pianist Vincent Meissner, born in 2000, with his trio. The ‘shooting star among German jazz pianists’ (JazzThing) is thus making his debut at the Klavier-Festival Ruhr. In the Night of Industrial Culture, the Ruhr area celebrates the former cathedrals of labor: collieries and coking plants, spoil tips and blast furnaces, machines and blower halls become the stage for diverse artistic productions and the platform for the stars of tomorrow.
