Lise de la Salle instead of Hélène Grimaud

Mephisto Waltz

Gnossiennes

Arcadi Volodos auf dem Klavierfestival Ruhr 2020

Unfortunately, due to delays related to the administrative backlog caused by the Covid 19 crisis, Hélène Grimaud is still waiting for the necessary documentation from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services that will allow her to travel outside the United States. Therefore, to her and our great regret, she has now had to cancel her concert at the Ruhr Piano Festival.

We thank Lise de la Salle for her spontaneous willingness to save the concert. We ask for your understanding for the resulting change in the program.

For the admission to this concert NO corona test or proof of vaccination is necessary anymore!

Isaac Albéniz Cantos de España op. 232
Franz Liszt Sonata in B Minor S 178 | Mephisto-Waltz No. 1 S 514
Alberto Ginastera Tres Danzas Argentinas op. 2

In her third appearance at the Ruhr Piano Festival, Lise de la Salle will place dance at the centre of her programme and show the audience the spirited flair of Spain and South America with the “Danzas Argentinas” op. 2 by ALBERTO GINASTERA and the “Cantos de España” op. 232 by ISAAC ALBÉNIZ. The virtuoso B minor Sonata by Franz Liszt, which is particularly challenging for all pianists, forms the antithesis to this, alongside the Mephisto Waltz, and promises a great pianistic journey this evening. Lise de la Salle has been performing on the major international stages for over 15 years and has positioned herself as one of the leading musicians of her generation with unparalleled sensitivity and maturity. Her playing inspired the Washington Post: “During most of her concerts, the audience must remember not to forget to breathe… the euphoria stopped only the second her hands left the keyboard.”
