My name is Beethoven. Ludwig van Beethoven. I would like to relate a few episodes from my life: one hears the craziest things, and I can’t stand the gossip any longer. I will explain how I managed to stay financially afloat in Vienna: it wasn’t easy, but I found a very efficient way. I was never poor! I’d also like to tell you how often and why I moved from one place to another, what I liked to eat, and how things went with the ladies (a lot went on, but, on the other hand, nothing really ever took place; I was always in love, but I never really got to live with someone). I also want to tell you how much of the Rhineland I still had in my genes, and what that meant: I never bowed to Vienna nobility! And I can also tell you a few things you never knew about the illnesses I suffered. Let’s put an end to speculation! It’s time for me to have a word!!
