Kit Armstrong will embark on three Mozart expeditions at the Ruhr Piano Festival: with hand-picked travelling companions and chamber music partners, he will devote himself to duos, trios and quartets, four piano concertos and a series of sonatas, the content of which the exceptional pianist is able to convey as excitingly as an opera plot. His concertos are rich in variety and full of love for Mozart’s music. The instrumentation varies from the great, moving Masonic Funeral Music to ensemble music and piano concertos to piano solo. Join Kit Armstrong as he explores Mozart’s music with relish in the extraordinary ambience of the Gebläsehalle in the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord.

Sebastian Manz (Klarinette)

Sebastian Manz, internationaler Solist, Kammermusiker und Solo-Klarinettist im SWR Symphonieorchester, feierte seinen großen Durchbruch 2008 beim Internationalen Musikwettbewerb der ARD in München. Dort erhielt er den 1. Preis in der Kategorie Klarinette, der seit 40 Jahren nicht mehr in dieser Rubrik vergeben worden war, sowie den begehrten Publikumspreis und weitere Sonderpreise. Zuvor gewann er mit seinem Klavierpartner Martin Klett den Deutschen Musikwettbewerb. Seitdem erhielt er dreimal den ECHO KLASSIK für herausragende CD-Einspielungen sowie den begehrten Emerging Artist Award in New York. Für sein 2019 erschienenes Album A Bernstein Story erhielt er im Oktober 2020 den OPUS KLASSIK in der Kategorie „Klassik ohne Grenzen“.
