The Long Goodbye
Bearbeitung des Themas aus Schindlers Liste für Violine, Violoncello und Klavier
We have the pleasure of welcoming the fabulous violin virtuoso Anne-Sophie Mutter for the 15th time at the Ruhr Piano Festival. In 2022, she helped us organize a benefit concert for Ukrainian children in collaboration with the Konzerthaus in Dortmund. Anne-Sophie Mutter was particularly keen on making that event possible: for many years, her own foundation has been supporting highly talented young musicians – including cellist Maximilian Hornung, whom she now brings with her to the Essen Philharmonie. Naturally, they will be teaming up with American pianist Lambert Orkis, who has been Anne-Sophie Mutter’s chamber music partner for many years. In honor of her faithful friendship and support for the Festival, she will receive the 2023 Ruhr Piano Festival Prize on the occasion of this recital from the hands of Franz Xaver Ohnesorg in his last year as director: “For me, this is a highly important, personal matter”, he remarks.
